Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for an experienced Dispatch Supervisor to join their team. The purpose of the role is to Develop and implement SOPs to ensure smooth operations in the dispatch area while safeguarding company resources and acting as a final quality check.
Responsibilities
- Build an efficient dispatch and distribution team through a strong mentorship program by creating a conducive work environment and culture, while promoting sound labour relations.
- Minimize unnecessary wastage of ingredients, packaging, cleaning materials and any other products.
- Develop and generate all shift, daily, weekly, and monthly reports ensuring that the data is analyzed, action points are generated and then closed with corrective actions.
- Ensure that the work environment and vehicles are maintained at a globally acceptable hygiene standard.
- Coordinate with the Cut & Pack department to ensure that all products to dispatched are availed on time, in full and error free.
- Ensure that quality of products being transferred from the packaging department is aligned and
- maintained with the company prescribed standards to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Perform daily reconciliations for dispatched goods and crates, invoices, delivery notes, proof of delivery documentation, goods transfer notes and market returns.
- Hold regular performance reviews with your team.
- Always be on the lookout for new ideas that could improve the business and communicate these to the Leadership Team.
- Work closely with the Finance Manager to develop and meet operating budgets through effective planning and strict adherence to SOP's and company policies.
- Communicate any incident, non-conformity, quality defect or vehicle malfunction you are involved in witness immediately to the company mechanic and the Senior Leadership Team.
- Follow any reasonable and lawful instructions given to you by the Head Baker and or any other member of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Follow strict time keeping ensuring that the company runs efficiently and delivers the best-in-class service and products to customers.
Requirements
- 4-6 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience in food processing industry will be an added advantage.
- Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, accounting or any other related course from a reputable institution.
- Proficiency in mathematics and accounting principles.
- Functional understanding of ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Program.
- Computer literate with strong administration skills.
- Certificate of good conduct.
- A keen eye for details and the ability to identify quality.
- Supervisory experience and knowledge of statistical process control and continual improvement methodologies.
- Exceptional time management skills.
